About Avalon

A CAMPUS REIMAGINED
Avalon is envisioned as a multi-use economic and community hub for Central West Virginia, bringing education, hospitality, recreation, dining, retail, and community experiences together in one destination. The project is designed to create opportunities for learning, support small businesses and tourism, encourage community engagement, and provide new recreational and entertainment experiences.

Avalon’s planned offerings include Appleseed Pre-School, a Montessori-based early learning program; KOIOS Academy, a private K–12 school focused on STEM education; the Saundra Johnson Aquatic Center; The Lofts @ Avalon for short-term and corporate lodging; The Varsity Restaurant, featuring locally inspired American cuisine; and The Collective, a marketplace for artisan, antique, vintage, heritage, and locally produced goods, along with a teaching kitchen and event space.
